Sasha Sinnock

Psychodynamic Psychotherapist and Counsellor
Couples and Individuals

I am an individuals and couples psychodynamic psychotherapist and counsellor. My aim is to help you live a more connected and meaningful life.

I use a psychodynamic approach to bring to light feelings and thoughts which you might not have been aware of but could be currently influencing your life in the shape of unhelpful behaviours, ideas or beliefs.

Together we can identify what is holding you back or keeping you stuck so you can then make long-lasting changes to personality and ways of relating. The objective is for you to gain a better understanding of yourself and to enable you to make different choices moving forward.

I am experienced in working with clients struggling with a variety of emotional, anxiety/stress/depression based, relationship and self-esteem related difficulties.

Individuals

I have experience working with individuals in charities,

GP surgeries and privately.

I believe the best approach is weekly 50 minute

sessions.

Couples

I believe our choice of partner is one of the most significant we ever make. If we feel the relationship - for whatever reason is not going well - this in itself can become highly stressful to cope with.

All sorts of issues can destabilise a relationship- drifting apart and struggling to reconnect, an affair, being caught in a negative cycle of unresolved arguments, communication difficulties, extended family pressures, issues around sex and intimacy...

As what is impacting on your relationship comes to light and issues are worked through I work with you to deepen your understanding of yourself and your partner. I help you both become reflective about your own part in the relationship and what you can each change.

I don’t always follow the same weekly session structure

format used for individuals. While some couples request

weekly sessions, others want ad-hoc check ins or to

work through a particular problem. Occasionally couples

return after an unexpected change or event has affected

the relationship.

Currently I am working part time for Relate as a relationship counsellor.

In my private practice, (online via Zoom and face-to-face in Sevenoaks), I see both Couples and Individuals.
